Our
Bantam A Lady Rangers made the eastern trip down the 401 to participate in
their first tournament of the 2017 season.
Round robin game 1 against the St Thomas Panthers had both teams play to a 0-0 tie. Hard work and effort provided wins against the North York Storm, Lakeshore Lighting and the Bluewater Hawks and a first place finish in pool B. Pumpkin MVP pucks were awarded to Amanda, Avery D., Aiko, and Gracey supported by the entire team outscoring opponents 12-2 in round robin play.
A Sunday morning semi final 4-0 win against the St Catharines Brock Badgers earned the Lady Rangers a rematch with the St Thomas Panthers in the championship final. Once again both teams played to an exciting overtime 1-1 tie leading to shootout. Lady Rangers hit the post, the Panthers scored in a thrilling finish to bring home the silver!
The season is a marathon and not a sprint, winning when you are not at your best as a team is key throughout a season. A 6-1-1 early season record will see improvement through practice as we learn to practice with pace.
