Kitchener Blue take Silver
Kitchener Minor Bantam Blue Select took home the Silver medal from the 19th Annual Richmond Hill Stars Select Tournament

Wanting to get started on the right foot the boys opened the tourney with a resounding 6-2 victory against the host Stars. After a slow start in game 2 Team Blue finally found their legs and potted 3 goals. Tight defense kept The Port Credit Storm off the board for a 3-0 Shutout. Game 3 on Saturday afternoon against the Duffield Devils was a spirited affair. The game was close until the 3rd period when Blue filled the net with 3 unanswered goals for 5-1 victory.
Playing their best hockey of the season resulted in Top Seed going into the semi finals!

The Semi final game against on Sunday morning against Vaughan JCC Beast was a see saw battle that kept the fans on the edge of their seats. The boys battled their way to a 4-3 OT victory setting up a date with crosstown rivals Waterloo Black in the Finals. In the finals that rivalry intensified with the game tied midway through the 3rd period but some timely goals by Waterloo resulted in the 5-3 loss.

Hard work and dedication to a down low system will prove successful for the rest of season as it did this weekend.

Thanks goes out to the Richmond Hill Stars for hosting the tournament.

On behalf of myself and Brian and Gary I would like to thank the boys and the parents for making this a fantastic and successful weekend.

Way to Go boys we are proud of you!!
