“Kitchener’s Hockey Ambassadors” were full on into the Christmas spirit this weekend joining the Royal Highlander Fusiliers in Filling an Army Truck at one of the local Sobey’s. The Major Atom AAA’s spent some time having fun and spreading a little Christmas Cheer together. Each of the players families donated $20.00 to this great cause headed by the Fusiliers as the boys went shopping to provide a little food to those in our community who are in need.
It was a walk down memory lane of a 1950’s Home Economics class as the boys strolled around Sobey’s keeping to their budget while trying to maximize the amount of food donated. Their goal was to hit the items most needed by the local food bank. Using the cash in hand the boys were able to complete the shopping experience in a job well done. Coming together as a team to exemplify the trait of Caring at this time of year was truly remarkable to see in action. The boys had a great time.
On behalf of the Major Atom AAA’s we would like to thank the Royal Highlander Fusiliers and Sobey’s for setting up such a great event. It was nice for the boys to again connect with our Military hero’s as they continue to honour our veterans this season. Once again the Royal Highland Fusiliers were offering their time for a great cause exemplifying just how important they are to our community. The Major Atom AAA’s were humbled by being able to contribute along the way. We would also like to thank the Food Bank for their tireless efforts during this time of the year.
