Daniel Chenard Named Top Goalie at RBC Cup
KJR minor midget Alumni Daniel Chenard has been named Top Goalie at the RBC Cup National Jr. A Championships.

Daniel was a key member of the KJR Minor Midget AAA program in the 2014-2015 season where he led the club to the Quarter Finals of the OHL Cup. The team eventually lost in double overtime.  During the season Daniel posted a 26-11-1 record with 6 shutouts, 1.84 GAA and .917 save percentage.

Anyone who watched a minor midget practice would commonly notice the Zamboni driver kicking Daniel off the ice after practice as he continually worked on foot speed and crease movement any chance he got throughout practice.  He was always the first player on the ice and the last player off.

Daniel was undrafted in the OHL Priority draft and played a year of Major Midget AAA.  From there he won a Sutherland Cup and was named the GOJHL Goalie of the Year while playing for Caledonia.

Daniel was specifically recruited by Chilliwack of the BCHL for this specific purpose, to lead the team to a National Championship.   Daniel's Chilliwack Chiefs will be playing Ottawa tonight in the semi-finals with a chance to play for the Jr. A National Championship tomorrow.   We fully expect to see Daniel continue his path and reach his goal of playing NCAA D1 hockey in the future.

Best of luck Daniel!!
