Meet Your Minor Midget AAA Players #22 Jack Dupont
When selecting a hockey club, the Jr. Rangers Minor Midget AAA team not only look at the player on the ice but also the player as a member of our community and a role model to other Jr. Rangers players within the Kitchener Minor Hockey Association system.

Each week we'll profile a member of the Kitchener Jr. Rangers Minor Midget AAA hockey club, so you'll get to know them a little more outside of their play on the ice.

This week we're proud to introduce #22 Jack Dupont

Jack, or dupes as he’s known to his teammates, is a left shot defenseman for the Kitchener Jr. Rangers Minor Midget AAA hockey club who comes to us from Collingwood, ON.  This is Jack’s first year as a Jr. Ranger, he played for the Grey Bruce Bantam AAA team last prior to moving to Kitchener.

Jack’s favourite pre-game meal is steak and potatoes and muffins for dessert.  He says his mom makes the best muffins.  Jack was put into his first pair of skates when he was 22 months and he’s been skating ever since.

Like other members of this year’s team Jack attends Resurrection High school and is part of the PEAT (Phoenix Exceptional Athlete Training) program, offers an enrichment program for student- athletes who demonstrate exceptional athletic potential in a given sport. Applicants to the program must also possess strong academic commitment and be positive contributors to the Resurrection community.

An applicant to the PEAT program:

• Is self motivated and willing to do the extra physical and academic work needed to excel in sport and educational pursuits

• Is competing towards a provincial championship or higher, outside of school, individually or as a member of a team

• Has a sound academic record in both grades and learning skills

Jack says math is his favourite subject and science his least favourite.  He is the youngest in the family and has one older brother who is 19.  Jack will listen to any country music but his dance moves stay behind closed doors and he said he doesn’t have a favourite movie.  He’ll just go with the flow.

When not at the rink Jack likes to spend time with friends and family.  He’s not a big video game guy but if there is something to do outside, he’s all for it.   When he has time, he’ll grab his fishing pole and see if he can catch dinner.  His best friends are Aidan and Jordan back in Collingwood.

His favourite team is the San Jose Sharks and defenseman Brent Burns is his favourite player.  Thankfully Jack currently has more teeth and less beard then Burns.

Jack doesn’t have any stamps in his passport as all of his travels have been within Canada or the United States but said his favourite trip was when he was Ziplining in Vancouver.

Another one of our Jr. Rangers who loves the outdoors life we’re very proud and fortunate to have Jack as such a role model and member of the Kitchener Jr. Rangers Minor Midget AAA program.
