Minor Midget AAA Jr. Rangers Reach Alliance Finals - Schedule Change
The Kitchener Jr. Rangers Minor Midget AAA hockey club has reached the Alliance Finals after defeating Cambridge Hawks in the Quarter Finals and the Waterloo Wolves in the Semi Finals.
In the finals Kitchener will meet the Brantford 99ers. Brantford finished first in the regular season with a record of 21-8-4 scoring 127 goals for and allowing 77 goals against. Kitchener, with a record of 18-6-9, finished 3rd 1 point behind Brantford. Kitchener scored 133 goals for and allowed 78 goals against.
Brantford reaches the final after a 3-game sweep of 8th place Chatham Cyclones and a hard fought 5 game series against 5th place Windsor Jr. Spitfires. The Jr. Rangers reached the finals by sweeping 6th place Cambridge Hawks and downing the 2nd place Waterloo Wolves in 4 games.
Kitchener and Brantford have met 4 times this season, including tournaments, and the teams are as evenly matched as their records and goals for and against indicate. They played in Brantford on October 23 where they battled to a 3-3 tie. The two teams met again a month later at the International Silver Stick tournament on November 23 where the outcome was the exact same, a 3-3 tie. On January 8th Kitchener traveled to Brantford where they came away with a 4-2 victory. Kitchener's final game of the regular season, with first place on the line, was on January 26 in Kitchener where they tied Brantford 1-1.
This series is sure to be a great series between two evenly matched teams. Both teams advance to the OHL Cup.

Game 2: Sunday March 3 at 3:00 pm - Activa (5-3 Brantford)
Game 3: Wednesday March 6 at 8:15 pm - Brantford Gretzky (3-3 Tie)
Game 4: Friday March 8 at 8:00 pm - Activa (3-1 Brantford)
Game 5 - Sunday March 10 at 4:15 pm - Brantford Gretzky (4-2 KJR)
Game 6 - Thursday March 21 at 7:00 pm - Activa

If Game 6 is necessary it has been rescheduled to March 21, 2019 allowing both teams a couple of days off prior to participating in the OHL Cup which starts on March 12.
