"Hat Trick of Good Deeds"
The Kitchener Junior Rangers Major Peewee AA team had the privilege of contributing to the community on three occasions this past month.

The coaching staff were very proud of the players and families who volunteered their time and effort to create a hat trick of good deeds.  First, each player was asked to donate $25 of their own money towards purchasing toys for less fortunate children.  The team matched the boys contributions with proceeds from an early season bottle drive.  The kids all spent an afternoon shopping for toys together and it was nice to see how excited they were about giving back to others.  They later presented many of the toys for the Toy Mountain charity at the CTV Kitchener studio.  Their second good deed was delivering the remaining toys to kids staying at Grand River Hospital over the holidays.  Again, the players demonstrated great compassion and caring towards others.  Finally, the team split up to volunteer at various local grocery stores.  They donned Food Bank aprons to raise money, food, and awareness for the local food bank.  Many grocery stores donation bins went from near empty to overflowing with the kids support.  These good deeds helped the local community in numerous ways.

This "hat trick of good deeds" is part of the team's participation in the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup for Peewee teams across Canada.  The kids learned many great values throughout this process and were amazing ambassadors for KMHA!!!
