Jr. Rangers Community Give Back & Wanye Gretzky Tournament
After a very busy Christmas season, we have a moment to update you on some news from the Kitchener Jr. Rangers Novice Blue team.

The holiday season started with our team's Jr. Rangers Give Back project. The players all dedicated themselves to practicing some classic Christmas carols both at home and after on-ice practice. We were all impressed to see the hidden musical talents of our players, and reassured that several have some potential fall-back careers! Once the rehearsals were done the boys were off to the University Gates Long Term Care Home, in Waterloo. The hope was to provide some entertainment and most importantly some Christmas joy to the residents of University Gates.

Through singing and talking with residents there were definitely lots of smiles on all sides. The residents especially enjoyed the team Christmas cards that the boys made for everyone. The Novice Blue players spread Christmas cheer through their respectfulness, politeness, and enthusiasm. Parents and coaches couldn’t have been more proud! A big thank you to Coach Marc for organizing the event and making sure the players were up to the task!

As for the hockey season, we entered the Christmas holidays on a roll. After a quick food- and gift-filled three-day break the Jr. Rangers headed to the Wayne Gretzky International Tournament with confidence running high. After rolling through the round robin, the Jr. Rangers faced off against the Amherstburg Stars for the second time in the semi-finals. This time the Jr. Rangers battled back twice during the game to tie it up, only to come up just short with a late goal against, losing 3-2. The winning streak ended at 17! Great job to the entire team and hoping to start a new streak heading into 2019!
