Bradford Blue & Gold Classic Tournament Champions!
On the weekend of January 11-13, the MD Red team played in their fourth tournament of the year, lacing up for the Bradford Bulldogs Blue & Gold Classic.
Game 1 on Friday saw the team play a very intense game against a fast and skilled Richmond Royals squad, that saw the boys show their never give up attitude, with the game ending in a 3-3 draw.
Game 2 on Friday pitted the boys against the Don Mills Mustangs, and they definitely raised their level of play while earning the victory.
Game 3 on Saturday saw the team continue to play at a high level, earning their second win of the tournament...and booking their ticket to the championship game on Sunday.
The excitement continued to build when it was determined that the MD Red fellas would face off against their game 1 rival...the Richmond Royals...and the team was eager for the re-match.
From the first drop of the puck, the Red Jr. Rangers took control with some skilled puck movement and strong positional play...as they were determined to prove that they deserved to be the champions.
When the final buzzer sounded, the boys skated away with a strong 4-1 victory...bringing home their 3rd tournament win of the year.
Seeing the boys elevate their game each and every time out, playing complete hockey and allowing only 3 goals against in the final 3 games, and showing true team work along the way...was amazing to be a part of.
Congratulations boys!! What a tremendous accomplishment once again!!
The coaches are just so incredibly proud of you and are looking forward to creating some more great memories during the last half of our season.
A very special thank you to our social team, team manager, and all other helpers for making our stay at the Nottawasaga Inn so much fun. What a great weekend!!!
Maybe our next tournament will be table-tennis!!! :)
