Rangers Lack Intensity Against Hawks
The Kitchener Jr Rangers MD Blue team came up short in a lopsided affair with the West London Hawks by a score of 5 to 1 Saturday afternoon.

The Rangers goal was scored by Aydan Costello from Jacob Reid-Brant and Ethan Lafleur. Evan Peori took the player of the game awarded for the Rangers. Peori worked hard in all three zones of the rink and tried setting up his line mates Carter Schade and Spencer Bulyaki all game.

Noah Roden put in some solid shifts on the penalty kill and worked hard with gritty center Connor Coughlin and his wingman Jake Masters.

Aiden Radatus was busy all game and made some nice stops to help the Rangers attempt to battle back. However, the Rangers were unable to generate much offence in the game and the ice at times appeared tilted.

The Rangers were missing Kodi Blackshaw and had Logan Hock in his place. Hock played well for the Rangers and complimented Noah Park’s smooth but aggressive game. Connor Pinos boxed players out in front and put pucks on net for the Rangers. Andrew Bishop showed leadership on and off the ice and both Keenan Hack and Kailum Belainc did their best using their speed to get to loose pucks.

All in all, the Rangers lacked intensity when needed and didn’t put in the effort to win the battles in the game. Should the Rangers want to bounce back to their typical winning ways, the players will need to step up and work harder as a unit and pay better attention to details.

The team has great speed and skill and the coaches are confident the players will bounce back and show what they are made from with a better showing next game. The positive is that it is early in the season and there is a lot of time to fine tune their game.

Let’s go Rangers!
