Rangers Capitalize in Third
The Kitchener Jr Rangers MD Blue team scored 7 goals in back to back games with a 7 to 2 win over the North London Capitals Sunday afternoon.

It was also back to back two goal games for Jacob Reid-Brant. Reid-Brant put the Rangers up 1 to 0 from Noah Park and then tied the game at two from Keenan Hack and Evan Peori.

Kailum Belanic also continued adding to his strong start with a two-goal game earning Player of the Game honors. His first goal was set up by Ethan Lafleur and his second goal was a beautiful end to end rush undressing the goalie.

Both of Belanic’s goals came in the third period, a period in which the Rangers finally came alive after just going through the motions for the first two periods. The Rangers had a run of 5 unanswered third period goals; the Belainc goals, a nice touch from Connor Pinos which was assisted by Noah Roden, a snipe by Peori from Reid-Brant and a blast from Kennan Hack with Aydan Costello picking up the lone assist.

Aiden Radatus had another strong game for the Rangers. He was especially solid in the early stages as the Ranger players took some time to find their game. Radatus was great at eliminating second chances and made some solid kick saves to keep the team in reach.

Kodi Blackshaw, who was named captain after the game, played a solid game defensively, as did, Andrew Bishop yet again. The Rangers were powerful on the defensive side of the ice and the defense had help from the forwards with players like Connor Coughlin, Spencer Bulyaki and Jack Masters working hard in all zones.

Next up the Rangers will cross the border to Detroit in pursuit of their first championship at the Motown Cup. If the Rangers continue to put in the same effort as they did in the third period this afternoon, teams will be in trouble when facing them!

Go Rangers!!
