Rangers Suffer White Out
The Kitchener Jr Rangers MD Blue team perhaps learnt a lesson in a 6 to 3 loss to the Waterloo Wolves White. You won’t be successful without coming to compete.

Luckily for the Rangers in the grand scheme of things this was taught in a meaningless game. Yes, the Rangers failed to execute in the game, but the real season doesn’t really start until after tiering and the Rangers have successfully tiered up after starting as “Tier 2”.

Jacob Reid-Brant continued feasting on teams with his 31st and 32nd goals on the season. His first goal was set up by Jack Masters and Spencer Bulyaki and his second from Kailum Belanic and Connor Pinos. Masters added a goal in the game from Carter Schade.

Braxton Mathews started in goal for the Rangers and made some great saves, but the Rangers did Mathews no favours by cleaning up loose pucks as well as allowing multiple Waterloo bodies into the house uncovered.

That said, the Rangers defenders weren’t terrible. Andrew Bishop, Noah Park, Kodi Blackshaw, Pinos, Belanic and Noah Roden worked hard wining some battles for the Rangers but didn’t get much support from the forwards.

One forward who really put in hard work, as always, was Connor Coughlin. The work horse battled his heart out and his line mate Keenan Hack did his part fighting for loose pucks.

Ethan Lafleur, Aydan Costello and Evan Peori had some smart shifts as well and tried to create some offense. Costello was particularly solid on the penalty kill.

Next up the Rangers will look for their third consecutive championship in the Wayne Gretzky Tournament and will close up the first part of the season in the New Year against the Brantford 99ers.

Go Rangers!
