Three in Four Equals Four of Six
The Lady Ranger Midget A’s played three games in four nights taking four of a possible six points.

Opening a busy four days with a rare Thursday night game at the Activa Sportsplex, the ladies played the Waterloo Ravens in a strong, controlled game with good puck movement and hustle. They managed to score "all four goals" taking game one “3-1” (yes, sometimes that does happen!!).

Two days later, the ladies travelled to Teeswater to take on the Saugeen – Maitland Lightning. While the temperature outside was “cool”, this had to be the coldest rink the ladies have set foot in for a long time. A sluggish first period (maybe shaking off the cold) led to a great second and third. Capitalizing on a low point shot – rebound, the ladies scored what would be the eventual game winner, potting an empty netter to grab their forth point in two games.

Returning to Kitchener on Sunday, the ladies faced a determined Raven team looking to avenge Thursdays loss. Playing an amazing first, the ladies drove the bus out shooting and out chancing the Ravens. With nothing to show for their efforts, the penalty box door began to open (and close, and open, and close and….you get the point), affording the Ravens several power play opportunities. As good as the “PK” is, something has to give with that many visits, and it did. Down by ”two” heading into the break, the ladies killed the last remaining second period penalty and played a much more controlled, determined third. Coming within one mid-way through the third, the Ravens remained poised and, despite being out shot by a three to one margin, held on for a well-earned “W”.

As discussed post game ladies, don’t lose the lesson. It is a valuable one.
