The Lady Rangers Midget “A’s” ended
2018 with a weekend “Hon=me and Home” with the Stratford Aces.
Game one would have all of the scoring done in the first. Opening the scoring with a great top shelf shot followed by a “using the backhand” (yes the back of the blade works just as well as the front), the ladies took a 2 – 0 lead heading into the second. A “softer” second followed by a physical third set the tone for Sundays return trip to Stratford.
Reminding the ladies that both games were “business and not Christmas”, Sunday’s game began where Saturday’s ended. With some body contact here, and some body contact there and more body contact everywhere, it was clear that both sides were all business. Although the Aces went up early, the ladies continued to play “hockey” and took the lead for good late in the game with a beautiful F2 rebound off of a great F1 weak side pad shot. Showing their Christmas spirit, the ladies exchanged some “pats on the back” and “Christmas wishes” in the corner as the game ended, thankfully without ending up on the game sheets “naughty” side.
We appreciated your on ice efforts while understanding the time of the season. Business must remain business heading into the New Year. Congratulations on weekend “W’s”. Well deserved.
