Final Practice - Final Thanks
With some heavy coaching hearts, the Lady Ranger Midget A's held their final practice of the 2018 / 2019 season.

On behalf of Bill, Ken, Sarah and Tim, I wanted to say a final thanks to everyone for our 2018 – 2019 season. This was a unique season for the coaching staff for several reasons. From player departures to coaching departures, to several significant injuries, to short benches, to having a great bunch of skilled and talented players, the season had it all. Although wanting more for the ladies, we cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed being a part of their last seven months. Their sense of humor left us with some true belly laughs and smiles and their thoughtful and respectful comments during some adversity showed us all how they are quickly moving into adulthood. You have a great bunch of daughters and we feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to coach them this season.

Many thanks to Ken for his scheduling efforts, stats tracking and dealings with the OWHA. It is not as simple as it seems and we all sincerely appreciated the time you put in behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly throughout the season.

A special thanks also to Terra for the quick arrival of the team meals that were appreciated by all. Our sincere thanks as well to the Murphy’s and Arnold’s who opened up their homes to allow us to have some “team” family time with everyone.

Was this a perfect season of hockey – not at all. Were there challenges – yes there were. Did we always agree – absolutely not; and that’s what makes each season unique for the players, parents and coaching staff. Keep the “good” with you and leave the “bad” behind in the trash where it belongs. Success and personal growth requires both but sometimes we hold onto the “bad” for far longer than we should.

We do hope that you saw the growth and development of you daughters, as we did, both individually and as a team. We hope they will all continue to make good “Choices and Options” in the seasons and years to come. The ability to do so is an important quality that we hope stays with the ladies for the rest of their lives. As we all know, there’s going to be a life AFTER HOCKEY that was a lot longer than their HOCKEY LIFE. AND remember ladies; try to show up at least fifteen minutes early for those job interviews (insert smiley face here!!)

Regardless of this weekends Provincial outcome, we are sincerely proud of all the ladies efforts and accomplishments this season. It has been a real pleasure!
