First Game vs Waterloo Wolves
Game Captain Eric MacPherson led the Minor Bantam Select Red team on the ice vs Waterloo Wolves Selects.

A bit of a slow start in the first came back to bite the Rangers Red in this game where Waterloo took an early two goal lead in the first period.  Once we started to establish a forecheck and put pressure on the Waterloo D some chances started to develop. This led to a big goal from Owen Stewart to make it a one goal game before the end of the first period.

With the momentum in our favour we carried the play for parts of the 2nd and 3rd periods with all F lines generating some good chances.  Nathan Hancock made some great saves down the stretch to give us a chance to come back but with the goalie pulled and an extra attacker on we ran out of time.

This was our first game of the year, some very good positives to take away and some things to improve on and work on in our next two practices coming up.

The 'Workhorse Helmet' for the player giving a 100 percent shift in and shift out tonight went to Sam Clark.  Sam was a key factor in freeing up pucks and creating chances in the offensive end and was equally as effective defensively in his backchecking.

Back at it tomorrow night for practice which leads into our next game November 4th against Rangers Blue.

Go Red Go!
