Complete Team Effort
Game Captain Brock Smith led the Rangers Red on the ice versus the cross rink rivals Rangers Blue.

From the moment of the first puck drop to the final buzzer the Rangers Red carried the play and put in a complete team effort to grab their first win of the young season!

Max Thompson starting for the first time as a Kitchener Jr Ranger provided solid goaltending when called upon and not only won his first game but did it in style putting together a shutout, what a start.  This shutout was supported by some strong D play in front of Max providing some great coverage in our end and generating chances in the O zone.

The Rangers Red provided a well balanced attack featuring all 3 forward lines grinding and creating chance after chance with our D contributing in a big way.  Eric Macpherson opened the scoring with a beautiful power play goal going coast to coast and ripping a shot high glove assisted by Tyler Kramp.  Kramp wasn't done on the evening and potted his own goal with a nifty little backhand to make it a 2-0 Red lead.  Later in the third period after some sustained pressure supported by his linemates Joel Guse and Sam Clark.  With the Blue goalie pulled and defending a two goal lead the line of Brock Smith, Rowan Dunlop and Daniel Deckert battled to keep the puck out of the D zone and through shear will and determination our Game Captain Brock Smith fought through a couple defenders and scored the empty netter to seal the victory, assisted by Deckert and Dunlop.  The line of Sean Disbrow, Noah Raymond, and Spencer McCormick created chance after chance in the offensive end racking up the most number of shots as a line on the night!  The Rangers Red hope to carry this momentum into next week for their first game away from Kitchener taking on the Center Wellington Selects in Fergus.  The Workhorse of the game went to Spencer McCormick for his relentless forechecking, winning of puck battles and supporting his line, well deserved Spencer!
