Rangers Red De-Rail the Express in Hamilton
Game Captain Tyler Andrews led the Rangers Red onto the ice to take on the Chedoke Express.

The Minor Bantam Select Red used a balanced attack to push their unbeaten streak to 8 games with a 6-1 win over the Chedoke Express.

The first period say the Rangers continue their trend of quick starts as they played most of the period in the Chedoke end cycling the puck and creating scoring chance after scoring chance.   58 seconds into the game Joel Guse went to work scoring off of some great work along the boards in the Chedoke zone by Sam Clark and Rowan Dunlop with assists on the goal.  A few minutes later a coast to coast rush from defenceman Brody Voll gave the blue shirts a two goal cushion unassisted.  To close off the first period Sean Disbrow who has been on a goal scoring tear for the Rangers potted another one to give the Rangers a 3 goal cushion heading into the 2nd frame.

The second period saw a lot of the same sustained pressure by the Rangers but a little bit of a push back from Chedoke and half way through the period they made it a 2 goal game.  This was short lived as the Rangers took advantage of a PP chance on a quick goal off an offensive zone faceoff by Sam Clark assisted by Ethan Goetz.

The third period saw the Rangers put the game away late in the period on another PP goal on a beautiful set up in the O zone by Daniel Deckert and Brody Voll who spotted Sean Disbrow in the slot for a one timer.  Brett Peeler scored 30 seconds later on a feed from Brock Smith whose line had been buzzing around all night with shot after shot and were finally rewarded.

Max Thompson though not tested that often was steady when needed in this game to pick up his 5th win of the season.  As we talked about after the game, sometimes the toughest games as a goalie are when you go 3 or 4 minutes between shots.

Coaching staff were impressed with puck movement in all zones for most of the game and again with our powerplay which went 2 for 4 on the night again.  The D have been really starting to contribute offensively racking up another 3 points on the night and moving the puck well out of the D zone.  All 3 forward lines contributed again on the score sheet and played heavy for most of the game.

Sean Disbrow took home the Workhorse of the game for his heads up passing, effort, and two goal performance on the night.

Next up for the Rangers a home game against West London on Sunday afternoon.

Go Rangers Red Go!
