Rangers Suffer Set Back
The Kitchener Jr Rangers Select Blue team were eliminated from the Dan Pulham Tournament Sunday morning after dropping a 3 to 1 game to the Oakville Rangers.

The Rangers were able to leave the game with their heads high and their coaches proud. The team never gave up and played hard all game. In fact, the team is leaving London a better team then they were when they arrived Friday. Mission accomplished!

Zackary Wick did an excellent job in net for the Rangers. Wick held the fort strong and made sure the Rangers had a chance to win the game. Wick had help from a defensive group that was fantastic all tournament. Ethan Shular stepped up using a combination of slick puck movement and speed to move the puck up ice. Rashaun Williamson was all over the ice making plays of breaking up plays and stopped a couple 2 o1 chances himself. Logan Hock controlled the pace of the game and frustrated the other team every shift he was on the ice. Evan Skipp made some highlight reel saucer passes and took a penalty to save a breakaway goal against. Dezi Deneau was a calming presence and held the line in offensive zone to help generate offense and more importantly played flawless defence.

Since being moved to centre Tyler Oude-Voshaar has scored 4 goals and was again the Rangers goal scorer. Oude-Voshaar capitalized on an inspiring effort of Ryan McConnell who won Player of the Game. McConnell has led by example and been awesome all season.

In fact, all the Ranger forwards were great. Braeden Buck was a work horse and warrior. Freddie Law was a relentless fore checker. Michael Rogoz gave the team speed and was perfect in the D zone. Shawn Parliament was a power forward using his size and speed.

Down the middle the Rangers relied on Will Halter and Colin Starr a lot. Both players raised their game and working their butts off for the team. Halter is always dangerous, and Starr is a tireless worker with a great attitude.

The coaches explained to the team that these tournaments are tools to teach them what it takes to be successful as the team chasing their banner dream. The lessons the players and coaches learnt will be key moving forward and help the team prepare to reach their goal.

Well done Rangers…your coaches applaud you!

Go Rangers!
