Rangers Come Out on Top in Seesaw Battle
The Kitchener Jr Rangers Select Blue team displayed a never give up attitude that helped propel them to an entertaining 5 to 4 win over the Oakville Rangers.

Shawn Parliament was the hero with the game winner, but the Rangers bench was full of heroes Sunday night.

The Rangers went up a couple goals with Colin Starr sniping a rocket from Michael Rogoz and Will Halter putting the finishing touches on a Ryan McConnell feed on a two on one. McConnell was unreal with his puck movement and passing all game.

However, the lead was taken away in the second period and the Rangers started the third period tied. To make matters worse, the Rangers quickly found themselves down 4 to 2 in the third.

Good teams find ways to win and this Rangers team is not only good but player great to battle back.

On the powerplay, Rashaun Williamson fed Logan Hock the puck and Hock made no mistake firing it high past the goalie. The goal was huge fir the Rangers and turned the tide. With only 15 seconds remaining the Rangers pulled goaltender Zackary Wick, who was instrumental in keeping the Rangers in the game, and McConnell battled hard before getting the puck to Brett Herniman who is clutch in front to tie the game.

The Rangers weren’t done yet. Tyler Oude-Voashaar took the draw at centre and made a really smart play pushing the puck forward and created a scoring chance for Starr. Starr fired the puck low and hard and the striking Parliament was finally rewarded for all his efforts going to the net.

It was a complete team win that saw hard workers like Ethan Shular, Braeden Buck, Jacob Ancich, Dezi Deneau and Evan Skipp not hit the score sheet but put in instrumental work to earn the win. The Rangers battled hard in the D zone and everyone chipped in to find success. Frankly, it was the type of effort that makes coaches proud.

Way to go Rangers!
