Rangers Control Thunder
The Kitchener Jr Rangers Select Blue team controlled the majority of play in a 3 to 1 win over the Halton Hills Thunder Tuesday night.

The Rangers moved the puck well and used quick shifts to keep the energy high and fight for loose pucks all game. When the Rangers didn’t have control, Meghan Wright, was in control and made saves to hold down the fort for her team.

Jacob Ancich opened the scoring from Will Halter and Ryan McConnell. Brett Herniman put the finishing touches on fantastic rush from Colin Starr and Halter went in alone to score a highlight reel goal off the post and in the net.

The Rangers had several great scoring chances but credit to the Thunder goalie for playing a strong game. Tyler Oude-Voshaar, Shawn Parliament and Herniman had several shifts where the trio made plays that were really exciting to watch. Freddie Law controlled the puck well and started to use his asset of speed to create space. Braeden Buck continued to impress his coaches with his work ethic and Michael Rogoz was dangerous all game with the puck.

Defense has been a strong point for the Rangers this season and once again was air tight. Evan Skipp elevated his play and the dependable Rashaun Williamson was always dangerous. Both Ethan Shular and Logan Hock were generals on the blueline and almost never make mistakes. Dezi Deneau used his wheels to separate himself with the puck from Thunder players and looked great. to

The weekend ahead looks to be a great test with games in Oakville and Waterloo. The coaches spoke to the team about playing hard for all three periods and continuing to pay attention to detail in the defensive zone. With the proper effort and focus the coaches believe things will go well for the Rangers as they prepare for Alliance.

Go Rangers!
