Rangers Wake Up but Too Late
The Kitchener Jr Rangers Select Blue team slept through the first couple periods before showing their true colours in a 6 to 3 lose to the Oakville Rangers Saturday afternoon.

Ethan Shular and Jacob Ancich both had a goal and assist, and Ryan McConnell had a pair of assists to join his teammates with 2 point games.

Zackary Wick was hung out to dry by his team but made a terrific glove save to help spark his teams third period rally that sadly came up short.

Down 6 to 0 in the third period Ancich got the train rolling with a hard shot that beat the Oakville goalie from Shular. Ancich then returned the favour with McConnell setting up Shular for a goal and then Herniman put one home from McConnell and Rashaun Williamson.

Shawn Parliament played center for the Rangers and looked strong down low for the team. Parliament moved the puck well with Tyler Oude-Voshaar and Colin Starr. Braeden Buck and Freddie Law worked hard for the team and Michael Rogoz made some solid plays as well.

The team was without leading goal scorer, Will Hatler, and used Starr up front so Evan Skipp, Dezi Deneau, Logan Hock, Shular and Williamson saw a lot of ice.

The Rangers will need to learn their lesson about failing to start strong in a fast manner as the team heads to Waterloo Sunday in another tough contest. If the team can put in their third period effort, they will be successful.

Go Rangers!
