Rangers Set Bar High
The Kitchener Jr Rangers Select Blue team opened the 2019 Alliance Championships with a dominate performance winning 8 to 0 against the Burlington Jr Cougars Friday morning.

The score was even more satisfying for the team considering the talent of the Cougars goaltender and the fact he frustrated the Rangers so much in their last game against the Cougars. This time around the Rangers chased him out of the net and controlled the pace of the game right from puck drop.

Player of the Game Award winner Tyler Oude-Voshaar had a pair of goals and what was most impressive was his constant passing game showing how unselfish Oude-Voshaar plays.

Logan Hock was another stand out collecting three assists and Ryan McConnell was impressive as well with a pair of assists and a goal.

Shawn Parliament opened the scoring the Rangers from Oude-Voshaar and Will Halter. Oude-Voshaar scored from Parliament. Michael Rogoz had a goal set up from Hock. Oude-Voshaar had his second in the game from McConnell and Hock. Halter then scored also from McConnell and Hock. Braeden Buck had a beauty splitting the defense from Rashaun Williamson. Colin Starr had his shorthanded highlight reel goal from Brett Herniman Williamson before McConnell stepped in for the final goal when Starr found him backdoor on the power play.

Meghan Wright collected the shutout and don’t let the score fool you it wasn’t well deserved and earned. The Rangers suffered a few defensive zone breakdowns and gave up some quality chances that Wright had to respond to and reacted perfectly.

Wright had help from some exception defensive play from the likes of Evan Skipp and Dezi Deneau as well as Ethan Shular and the rest of the defenders. The Rangers made zone entry difficult and battled hard all game.

A few warriors who did not hit the score sheet but were massive contributors include Jacob Ancich who was a work horse at centre and Freddie Law who battled hard for every 50/50 puck for his team. It was truly a full team effort with no passengers. It was exactly what the coaches have been pushing from the team and enjoyable to see executed.

The Rangers set the bar high and will face the Chedoke Express at 8pm with hopes to build more momentum in their pursuit for the banner.

Go Rangers!
