Rangers Win Alliance Championship!
The Kitchener Jr Rangers Select Blue team achieved their season long goal coming home with the Alliance Championship banner in an entertaining back and forth 5 to 4 overtime win over the Waterloo Wolves.

With the game tied 4 to 4 after the third, the teams played 3 on 3 with 99 minutes on the clock in a do or die next goal wins final. Colin Starr played the puck to Jacob Ancich and Ancich played it to Ryan McConnell and McConnell ended the drama for the Rangers win.

Meghan Wright saved her best for the end when she made a clutch save in the dying moments of the third and again when the Wolves broke in alone right off the draw to start the overtime.

Ancich opened the scoring from Ryan McConnell. Michael Rogoz scored from Freddie Law and Braeden Buck. Brett Herniman had a beauty from Ancich. Colin Starr sent a rocket in from the point unassisted.

The Rangers were a team that played great defensively all season and once again Logan Hock and Ethan Shular were once again generals on the point controlling the game flow. Rashuan WIlliansom kept the Wolves on their toes with his none stop wheeling game. Evan Skipp was a warrior and motivated his teammates with solid play and Dezi Deneau was smooth and calculated with his smart play. Starr was on top of his game a leader for the team all tournament.

Equally as brilliant was the play of the forward lines. McConnell, Herniman and Ancich moved the puck beautifully all night and executed the coaches game plan perfectly. Parliament was a bull in a china shop and work horse. Tyler Oude-Voshaar continued to lead and be one of the smartest players on the ice. Will Halter played his best hockey when his team needed him the most and a vocal leader with a positive attitude.  The line of Law, Rogoz and Buck raised to the occasion when the games were most important. Law’s work ethic and passion is admired. Buck made amazing plays all game and had a contagious energy the team thrived from in the game. Rogoz has a noise for the net and seems to get on the scoreboard in every big game.

The coaches would like to thank the players and their families for the commitment, hard work and memories that will last a lifetime.

All in! Go Rangers!
