AGONIZING DECISIONS - Final Day of Tryouts.
On behalf of the coaching staff - I want to really thank the final 23 players that tried out for our team. The level of hockey that we witnessed over the past 2 weeks has been outstanding.
I don't believe in using this forum to evangelize to the masses - but I will tell you that Kitchener is blessed to have such a high level of talent at this age group. Other smaller cities are desperate to find enough good players to form 1 MD team and we are lucky enough to have 2 strong MD teams and an even stronger Select team.
It was extremely brutal and sad to make the final cuts. My only hope is that those who aren't on this team show me how wrong I was and dominate at the Select level and win another Alliance Championship, and those that did make this team understand and appreciate how close the competition is and continue to work hard to improve their game.
With that - here are the final 17 players that will play for MD Blue this year:
