Our team had their first official get together this past weekend...and what a weekend it was!
Not only did we have fantastic weather with 30 degree temperatures, we had an even more amazing time together as a group.
The boys had a full day of swimming, ball hockey, basketball, hot-tubbing, lots of snacks and most importantly bonding for hours on end. I think the parents may have had more fun than the kids with it turning into quite the event going well into the evening Saturday night. Friendships were being developed and there are a lot of smiling faces on this team...that is what this experience is all about. I am certain this is just the beginning of many more fond memories to come for our families this season.
Our party was followed up Sunday with a coaches clinic practice and power-skating where I received feedback from both sets of instructors that shared what a pleasure it was to work with our boys and just how hard they worked while being respectful at the same time. That is something they should really be PROUD of. What a nice complement for a team that had a very busy weekend and still managed to put in two hard skates on Sunday to wrap up a great weekend on a positive note.
