Congratulations to all our boys who went a perfect 5 and 0 this past weekend to win the Championship...
Our Coaches are so PROUD of this group of Players that showed an impressive team game in our first tournament of the season. We asked the boys to buy into a non-selfish style of play right from day one and they have not disappointed whatsoever. We have witnessed players with a bigger smile on their face when they set up a play to their friends and are truly happy when their line mate scores a goal instead of themselves. That is team bonding at its best. Our Forwards moved the puck around like they were in mid-season form with relentless pressure on the teams we faced. We asked the boys not to take any team lightly and build off every game as they did exactly that by getting stronger and stronger as the tournament played on.
Our Defencemen were solid the entire weekend and managed to score from the point on seven separate occasions in addition to the many deflections our forwards got their hands on to score from great shots off the blue line. This was a fantastic way to start the season and help develop confidence in our team to push forward as they build off a positive experience. Our team remained focused all tournament long with their eye on the prize and didn't disappoint with a commanding 40 goals for and just 2 against with great Defence and solid Goaltending from Ryan & Cooper who looked calm and steady all weekend long!
