QEW Weekend
Submitted By Brian Perry on Monday, October 28, 2019

With a 2 game road trip this weekend, we hit the QEW on Saturday and Sunday with games in Hamilton and Burlington.

A slow start Saturday in steel town with Zack holding us in the game against a big, physical Hamilton team that were relentless in shots taken in front of our goal and were physical on the puck to create themselves an abundance of chances. The third period is when the boys turned the game our way, Hamilton started to wear down after 25 minutes the boys skated faster, used patience and created more chances in the third period but ultimately both teams were deserving of a point from the game.

Sunday night in Burlington the boys were all go from the opening puck drop and did not relent in all three periods, playing on a small ice surface against a very fast and good passing Burlington team that pressures you in all three zones the boys had to make quick decisions and use every aspect of their skill to make space, create chances and finish on the majority of the shots taken. A very good game and good learning for skill development going forward.
