It was a weekend of adversity with 2 of our boys on the injured list so we played the weekend with 13 players. Friday night at grand river was a game like none other we have had so far this season as we were given 68 minutes in penalties, we played all but 6 minutes of the game short handed and it was an uphill battle from the opening face off. The boys gave everything they had and there wasn't a dry head of hair at the end of the game, Zack stood on his head and dealt with every wave of pressure from Waterloo. 4 fantastic goals all shorthanded with build up play. The boys deserved to win this game more than any other this season.
Saturday was not a (revenge game) against the only team to give us a 1 in the loss column, it was a game against the team that humbled us in a final of a tournament, the first and second period was again marred with penalties but a good end to end hockey game with both teams having lots of shots, great passing and superb goaltending. The boys turned it on in the third period when they scored 5 goals all from teamwork play (breakouts, build up play, and high class finishing).
A weekend in which the boys galvanized and played as not only as team but as a family.
Great job boys
