Rangers Route Hurricane
Submitted By Dave Horne on Sunday, November 3, 2019
The Kitchener Jr Rangers MD Red team finished their weekend off with a 15 to 0 win over the St. Catherine Hurricane Saturday afternoon at Grand River. The game was a stark difference from the Rangers win over he rival MD Blue team less then 24 hours before with a lot less excitement from the team. The Rangers might have looked slightly different with defenders playing as forwards and the forwards playing defencemen, however the boys continued to execute and fire on all cylinders.

Aiden Radatus recorded the shutout and was slightly less tested then normal however maintained focus and patiently waited for shots. When called on late in the third, Radatus made a sprawling save on a 5 on 3 penalty kill to keep the shutout in tact.

Caleb Cumming opened the scoring on the power play from Connor Coughlin and Noah Park. Denver Heiman scored from Toby Pryce. Coughlin scores from Jake Fisher and Matt Gallant. Logan Duke recorded a natural hat trick with his assists from Pryce, Fisher, Heiman, Quinten Earle, Jacob Reid-Brant and Cumming. Coughlin scores his second in the game from Cumming and the Duke had his fourth from Heiman and Earle. Reid-Brant scored a pair with assists from Earle (on both goals), Cumming and Fisher. Pryce scored from Chad Morris and Cumming. Cumming scores his second goal from Radatus and Kodi Blackshaw. Park scores from Reid-Brant and Coughlin. Evan Peori finished the scoring for the Rangers from Josh McDonald.

Next up the Rangers will head down Highway 8 to the Cambridge MD Festival and look to claim their first championship of the season.
