North York Knights Challenge 2020 – Day 1
The Kitchener Jr Rangers MD Red team got off to the start they wanted with a convincing 6 to 1 win over the West Toronto Renegades A team Friday night. The win continued to add to the Rangers impressive season, finishing off a 5th straight month where the Rangers have found themselves undefeated.

It was evident from the intensity the Rangers learnt to not take any shifts off after going undefeated in their last A tournament yet not advancing to medal rounds. This time the Ranger pounced on the Renegades and never let up scoring just over two minutes into the opening frame.

To open the scoring, Jacob Reid-Brant scored a highlight reel spin around goal from Connor Coughlin and Caleb Cumming. Cumming then drove the net hard to make it 2-0, scoring from Reid-Brant and Toby Pryce. Evan Peori returned to the line up and scored from, another member returning, Matt Gallant and Josh McDonald. Coughlin added back to back goals with his first coming from Quinten Earle and Pryce and his second from McDonald and Reid-Brant. Kodi Blackshaw finished off the game in the final minute scoring a rocket bar down beauty from Stephen Peppas and Peori.

Aiden Radatus returned from the flu and showed no rust steering aside all but one shot against. Radatus made sure the Renegades couldn’t get any second chances and confidently played the puck to his defenders and made sure rebounds were in the corners.

Noah Park and Chad Morris dominated the defensive zone and had contributions from Denver Heiman and Jake Fisher, both of whom also had excellent scoring chances.

Next up the Rangers will welcome back Logan Duke and play a pair of games to finish the round robin. The Rangers have a business-like attitude and a sense of determination following their last visit to Toronto that will hopefully carry them into the medal rounds of this A tournament. With the competition getting harder as the tournament goes on the Rangers will need to continue to focus on team goals and play as one Relentless unit. Should the players continue to play with passion their coaches like their odds.

Go Rangers!
