The Lady Rangers Midget A’s
travelled to Georgetown and Teeswater this weekend closing out the “three”
regular season meetings with both the Twisters and Lightning.
The ladies traveled to North Halton Saturday night for their third and final meeting of the regular season with the Twisters. After a scoreless first, the ladies opened it up in the second with three unanswered goals. A nice back door, followed by a great net drive and a low weak side pad shot / rebound were all the scoring the ladies would need.
After a beautiful Sunday drive to Teeswater, a slow start in the first had the ladies down immediately with the first shift of the game. Playing much better hockey in the second, the game was tied heading into the break. It’s a shame that crossbars and post don’t even count as “shots on goal” cause you had several!! Alas, a late short handed goal was the dagger in an otherwise good effort. As hockey life goes, you will win some you shouldn’t and lose some you shouldn’t. Sunday was the latter. Please remember what we spoke of post game but either way, at some point trips to the box will cost you.
A good overall effort this weekend ladies. It was nice to finally play with a full roster!! Work hard this week. Pittsburgh awaits!
