Fall Tryouts - Off-Season Fitness

Hello everyone,

My name is Daryll Smith and I am the head coach for the 2020 / 2021 Kitchener Lady Rangers U18 "A" team. We are a full “non-parent” coaching staff which includes a full-time goalie coach. While hoping that everyone in the hockey community has remained healthy, the coaching staff is preparing for the 2020 / 2021 hockey season. We understand that Hockey Canada is not permitting tryouts to begin until after September 1st and also appreciate that the season will look different than those in the past BUT we also know that preparation for everyone is still the key to success.

Firstly, appreciating that no-ones hockey season ended as planned, the U18 coaching staff wanted you to know that as a result of players aging out at the U18 level and several others of those moving onto U18 “AA” hockey, that we have vacancies at all positions for those wishing to play U18 “A” hockey next season. If you are interested, we would like to hear from you and in return would be happy to send out some further information regarding our projected in-season plan including tournaments, off ice training and testing, on ice testing, proposed budget etc.

Secondly, are you interested in some off-season information to keep you in shape and healthy heading into fall tryouts? Each spring post tryouts, we send our team away with several packages to keep them going throughout the summer until we hit the ice in September. As that is not possible this season, we would like to offer the packages to ANY PLAYER who wants to DO MORE to make THEMSELVES BETTER for fall tryouts. The packages include fitness (tabata, strength, conditioning), nutrition and recovery (stretching) as well as a weekly shooting program. We are looking to start your off season fitness beginning in May. Our only stipulation is that if you request it, we expect you will use it.
