Good morning Ranger Fans!
Dryland
We had to cancel our dryland training session today on account of weather. ☹ If the weather cooperates, we’ll still look to squeeze in something. If not, I know our social committee is already busy coming up with ideas to help the boys gel as a team.
G&G Skate Training
Check the link here for the time assignments to know what time to arrive at. Equipment from the waist down is required. Bring gloves, stick and skates with you to the facility. There are no dressing rooms available at G&G, so you’ll have to come dressed (with the exception of skates). There are benches/chairs to tie up your skates. Please remember your mask, as it will be required at all times, except during training. Goalies – you’ll need pads, gloves, pants and stick.
Cambridge Earlybird MD Tournament
The times have been set for the Cambridge Tournament. We had match ups posted to the site, but looks like they’ve pulled it back to “team pending”. In any case, games start as early as 9am on Friday. So, just a heads up to check back often for our start times as Cambridge finalizes the tournament brackets. Click here for our division.
Volunteers
Thank you to our parent volunteers to make this a fantastic season. We really appreciate everyone’s willingness to jump in and help. As I said on our call, it takes a village.
Treasurers = Paige Barnard and Lisa Nielsen
Social = Jen Kolb, Loralei Brideau and Karen Lillie
Call/Control = Jen/Colin Fitzmagic + Steve Yonemitsu
Fundraising = Jen Fitzpatrick and Jen Kolb
Practice Tuesday?
We’re trying to get ice for Tuesday. The league scheduler is working on shuffling some things around to make room for more ice for us. Please tentatively mark 6:15pm in your calendars for Tuesday, October 5th. We should have an update tomorrow. Check back our calendar online here.
We also won’t be scheduling any extra ice time over Thanksgiving weekend. It’s going to be a busy season, so hoping to give families some time to spend together over the holidays.
Health Forms
Just a reminder to complete your Health Form and return to our trainer Scott Douglas ASAP. If any special accommodations are required, please highlight that with Scotty or clearly indicate it on your form. All information is held in strict confidence and is destroyed at the end of the season.
Photo Introductions & Player Cards
If you’re comfortable, please add a picture to the chat group, to make it easier to spot parents around the rink and put names to faces. For the players we will be doing up player cards with jersey numbers, name of player etc. Please approach me if you’re uncomfortable sharing any information, otherwise the social team will get some printed up and shared with the parents.
Wearables
A few parents asked us about wearables. Parents are encouraged to outfit their athletes with the Kitchener Minor Hockey outerwear from the approved suppliers listed here. Dress codes for games will be neat and tidy, well groomed and matching blue wearables.
Budget Vote on Wednesday
Just a reminder that votes to approve the budget must take place in person with a KMHA executive onsite to witness the votes. Please plan to stick around for 10 minutes after the practice on Wednesday at Lions for a vote to pass the budget. We’ll send around copies for everyone to review to our email list as well.
