Iced by the Ice Cats
The Kitchener Lady Rangers travelled down highway 24 to visit the Brantford Ice Cats.

On a rare Thursday evening game, the ladies travelled to Brantford to face the Ice Cats. A strong start in the first had the ladies out shooting and out chancing Brantford. A beautiful pass to F3 “hunting the dot” put the ladies up by one at the end of the first. Back-to-back penalties in the second had the Rangers giving up a short-handed marker with just eight seconds left in the second penalty. A failure to maintain proper defensive zone coverage led to what would be Brantford’s second goal of the period and game winner. Although the ladies played a stronger third, the loss of focus, running around and missed assignments gave the Ice Cats the win.

Our systems of play are built on a foundation of support so that when “battles” are lost, there is always someone else there to pick up the player. Failure to support, running around and missing assignments often prove costly and unfortunately tonight, you paid for those mistakes. As we will discuss in the coming weeks, failure is part of the process. Accept it. Learn from it and move on.
