Eagles VS Titans
Welcome to the Semi-Finals for the 2022 Jason Cripps Tournament.
Our undefeated Eagles were getting ready to face off against the 4th place Titans.
This was going to be a high energy game.
First period was fast and furious. The Eagles got their first goal when #66 Nanuti broke in down the wing and fed #15 Peplow with a great cross ice pass, which #15 Peplow buried for the first goal. #31 Massecar kept his eye on the puck, and the puck out of the net.
Second period was just as fast and the first. Quickly into the period #66 Nanuti took a shot but rang it off the post. Then at 5:37 a great rushing attempt by #66 Nanuti was finished off by #11 Bell when #66 Nanuti lost control of the puck. Then at 2:51 #9 Hancock broke into the zone on the right side and buried one in the top corner. Then a minute later the Titans rang one off the post, which was thought to have gone in the net, but the refs agreed, it did not! With only 33 seconds left in the period #10 Pittaway took the puck and went for an end to end rush to score a beauty of a goal.
Third period saw the Titans pour it on, to try and rally a come back. They scored 2 unanswered goals, but it just wasn't enough and the Eagles held on for the win.
Final Score: 4-2 Eagles
Later in the locker room #66 Nanuti was awarded the Hardest Worker Puck for leading the attack offensively and contributing defensively with supportive back checking.
