Welcome - Tryout Information and Additional Info.

My name is
Josh Bedard and I am the head coach of the U9 Kitchener Jr. Rangers Tier 1 Red
Team this coming season. With tryouts just around the corner, I wanted to
provide some clarification regarding the times that are posted on the KMHA
website. As per the website tryouts start Saturday September 24th,
2022. There will be three morning ice times, followed by three afternoon ice
times. The intent is that players will be divide into three equal groups for
the Saturday ice times shortly after KMHA closes registration for tryouts
(Sunday September 18th, 2022) and players will be expected to attend both of their assigned ice times for Saturday.
I will be referring to these groups as Group A, Group B and Group C and they will be posted to the website on or before Tuesday September 20th, 2022. Once your player has been assigned to a group it is your responsibility to ensure they show up for the correct ice time.
Each groups ice times on Saturday will be as follows:
Group A – 8-9AM and 2-3PM
Group B – 9-10AM and 3-4PM
Group C – 10-11AM and 4-5PM
On Sunday September 25th we will be holding three intrasquad games. Players will be assigned to a respective team and will participate in one intrasquad game on Sunday. Rosters for these ice times will also be posted to the website on or before Tuesday September 20th. Shortly after these intrasquad games our coaching staff and evaluators will post (via the website) which players are invited back for the red team tryouts on Monday the 26th and which players are invited to tryout for the blue and white teams on Tuesday the 27th. Any players not listed on the website will have been released from the MD tryouts and are encouraged to participate in the house league evaluations that will be taking place on Saturday October 1st.

Additional Information:
Calendar - The team calendar is currently up-to-date and shows most events for the upcoming season. Game times are currently tentative and do not show away games. They will be added as Alliance works through the schedule for U9.
Practices – Every Monday and Wednesday morning at 6:30AM.
Dryland and Power Skating - most Fridays, some Thursdays.
Games – Saturdays and Sundays
Tournaments – Ottawa, Burlington, Belle River and Hespeler
Alliance Championship – St. Catharines
Parent Meeting - Mandatory parent meeting for selected players is Thursday September 29th at 7PM. Location to be confirmed.
Attendance - It is expected that all players on the Kitchener Jr. Rangers Red team will do their best to attend all practices, games, tournaments, power skating, dryland and team building events. It is expected that attendance at hockey will take precedence over other organized sports/activities your player may be part of.
Rep/Team Fee - It is anticipated that the Rep and Team Fee for the Kitchener Jr. Ranger Red team will be approximately $1600 in addition to the registration and tryout fees paid to date.
