With
just three regular season games left to go, the Kitchener Lady Rangers found
themselves in the “West End” arena to play game #20 against the Guelph
Gryphons.
The Lady’s had a strong start in
the first and scored the game’s first goal just over four minutes in on a goal mouth scrabble. Despite a few missed assignments, the Lady’s
ended the period up by one. Midway through the second, an intercepted middle
pass gave the Gryphons a breakaway opportunity which they capitalized on to tie
it at one going into the break. With just under three minutes left in the
third, a perfectly executed D-Zone face-off, boards chip, F1 to net driving F2
put the Lady’s up by one. Some nice D-Zone “get beat up on the boards” coverage
followed by a stick to the head “Suzie” face-off, gave the Lady’s two points
and kept them in the hunt for a final playoff position.
Although we wish you would trust in
our systems of play more, your playoff fate remains solely with you and your
play. Continue to work hard, skate hard and execute what you believe will make
you most successful. Two more games
ladies, just two more games.
