Senior Thanks - It's Not Goodbye - It's See You Later
The Kitchener Lady Rangers U18”A’s” said “thanks” to “four” wonderful ladies who are leaving U18 hockey.

We were fortunate to have had all four ladies playing with us for the past several seasons, choosing to return again for this year’s tryouts.

Playing larger than her stature, and with some penalty minutes to prove it, Ms. Lloyd did not hesitate to make her on ice presence known. Her contributions outside the penalty box included the doubling of her point production year to year and the coining of the phrase “be like Mary Lloyd” for her true understanding of our D-Zone faceoff requirements. We wish you continued “year to year” success in the many years to come.

Although physically larger in stature than Ms. Lloyd, our second senior, Ms. Kuntz had the lowest penalty minutes of all our graduating seniors. Speed was the name of the game for Ms. Kuntz. In an incredible feat over the past two seasons, she remained the fastest player in all four of her on ice testing times. Coupled with her off-ice fitness results, her presence was known game in, game out. And unfortunately, the game can change in the blink of an eye. We know that the mid-season injury this season was tough, however your resilience and hard work is something that we cannot teach, and it will carry you far in life.

Steadiness on the back end exemplified the play of Ms. Singh. Polite and hard working on ice you also remained resilient and continued to lead and work hard otherwise. Just because you did not wear a letter this season did not mean that your leadership went unnoticed. The lifelong lesson that you will learn is that many people in a defined position of leadership are not always the true “leaders”. Lead wherever it is you go. You are able, you are capable, and you can.

Last, but by no means least, also on the back end, and our captain this season, Ms. Hesch. Your hard work on ice over the seasons was never in dispute. You too remained resilient in the face of some challenges and your work ethic shone on the ice, shift in, shift out. Leadership can feel heavy at times. Remember, don't shoulder the weight of the whole world, but certainly don’t be afraid to put yourself out there.

Best of luck with all your endeavors ladies. If you need anything, we are only a rink (or phone call) away!

Our sincere thanks as well to all those who contributed to the ladies' flowers. A wonderful, heartfelt, amazing gesture!
