Welcome to the KJR U11 Seeded Tryouts
Hello U11 Families,

My name is Scott Atkins, and I am the Head Coach for the U11 Kitchener Jr. Rangers Seeded team for the upcoming 2024/25 season. Tryouts begin on Saturday, April 27th, with three afternoon ice sessions on Saturday and then three ice sessions on Sunday morning. The players will be divided into three groups for their first two ice times. I have emailed you the group and ice time for your athlete on Saturday and Sunday.  If you have NOT received an email from myself stating the ice time for your athlete, please contact me directly.  If you haven't registered yet, please do so immediately.

Once your player is assigned to a group, it is your responsibility to ensure they attend the correct ice time. The weekend ice times for each group are as follows:

Group 1: 2pm – 3pm Saturday and 7:15am – 8:15am Sunday
Group 2: 3pm – 4pm Saturday and 8:15am – 9:15am Sunday
Group 3: 4pm – 5pm Saturday and 9:15am – 10:15am Sunday

On Monday evening, April 29th, we will hold two intrasquad games. Players will be assigned to a team and participate in one of two intrasquad games. Rosters for these games will be posted on the website by Sunday evening. Following these games, our coaching staff will announce, via the website, which players are invited to the exhibition game against Waterloo on Tuesday, April 30th. Players not listed on the website will have been released from the Seeded tryouts and are encouraged to register for the U11 BB/B evaluations.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at [email protected].

Additional Information:

The Toyota Hockey Challenge consists of round robin competition amongst top Kitchener, Waterloo & Cambridge teams, with the top two teams then competing in a one-game show down that will determine the team to represent the Tri-Cities in a once-in-a-lifetime cultural exchange to Japan. The team that wins the Toyota Hockey Challenge will travel to Hokkaido, Japan during March Break for a cultural exchange with the Tomakomai Allstars, all expenses paid by TMMC. Thanks Toyota!
Timbits
The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. Tim Hortons currently sponsors over 200,000 children who play on hockey, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball and ringette teams across Canada and in the United States. Each sponsored team is supplied with Timbits Minor Sports jerseys or T-shirts. Timbits hockey teams are often given the opportunity to play on-ice scrimmages during intermissions at Junior, American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) games and do so with our own KITCHENER JR.
