For 6 days over this past Thanksgiving Weekend, the Major Atom AAA Jr Rangers proudly represented Kitchener Minor Hockey & the City of Kitchener, enjoyed the amazing city of Boston and created a lifetime of memories.
Among the many highlights and memories the players and their families now share, our group of 60 was graciously hosted by Mr. Geoff Ward, assistant coach of the Boston Bruins, at the teams morning skate at the TD Gardens. Geoff then toured the players and coaches through the Bruins dressing and team facilities before accepting the Kraut Line plaque on behalf of the Bruin's organization and Mr Milt Schmidt, the lone remaining "Kraut".
Other awesome experiences for our group during the trip include a famous Boston Duck Boat tour, the New England Aquarium, the Bruins vs Avalanche game, a meet and greet with the referees after the game, a tour of Fenway Park & watching the Red Sox practice from the Green Monster, the Hard Rock Cafe & an extensive walking tour of Boston.
The Eastern Hockey Federation Columbus Day Classic tournament was also successful in that the Jr Rangers faced some very competitve American teams. The team went 1-2-1 and battled through many game play and rules differences compared to the hockey back home in the Alliance.
Thanks very much to everyone for ensuring an amazing hockey experience was had for our players in Boston. Your ideas, contributions, flexibility, patience & team work allowed the trip to flow with minimal hitches & made it very enjoyable for everyone.
