Staying Hungry
This weekend we played our final game before the Christmas break against the Burlington Bulldogs. Our challenge was to see if we can keep our effort level up and keep the streak alive.
We started the game off very well with play consistently in Burlington's end eventually getting the fist goal early in the first. We struggled a bit throughout the game with positional play but we also saw some great things from the boys. The powerplay in the offensive zone is something we have been working on so it was nice to see it executed like we have practiced. Way to go boys!
The game continued and we still dominated puck possession and most of the play was in Burlington's end. We kept the pedal down and won the game 6-2 thus keeping our streak alive.... unbeaten in 15 games. We have just 5 games left before league tiering and the boys have 4 practices over the Christmas break to get ready for Cambridge Hawks on Jan.4th and the Hamilton Spitfires on Jan.5th. This sets up one of the biggest weekends of the year so far with 2 opponents back to back both fighting to catch us in the standings.
