Thanksgiving A/AE Tournament Peterborough, ON
Round Robin
Game #1 vs. Waterloo Timber Wolves

The nerves and excitment of playing in their first tournment game definitely showed against a talented Waterloo Timberwolves team. After losing 5-2 the players vowed to to step it up and learn from this game.

Game #2 vs. Waterloo Wild Wolves
The Rangers dominated the young Waterloo team winning 6-2. Kyver Lippert lead the offensive charge with a 4 goal performance and Colton Isley shut the door with a strong game between the pipes.

Game #3 vs. Georgina Blaze
The Rangers' defense continued to suffocate the opposing team's big guns.  Tyler Ollson had his best game of the year and Kyver Lippert lead the team with an incredible performance at both ends of the ice. When called upon, Kyle Ayres turned away all Georgina snipers putting up the goose egg.

Game #4 vs. Peterborough Pete's

From the drop of the puck the Rangers overwhelmed the Pete's beating them 7-2. This was a total team effort!  The boys ended the round robin with a 3-1 record and grabbed the tournament's second seed heading into the semi final.

Semi Final vs. Peterbough Pete's
Both teams came ready to play.  After being down 2-1 the Rangers tied things up with a goal by Ryan Cornfield.
In overtime, Evan McDonell ended the game with a beautiful shot from just inside the face-off circle putting it top shelf. The Rangers were riding high heading into the finals agaisnt the round robin's top team, Waterloo Timber Wolves.

Finals vs.Waterloo Timber Wolves
The Rangers knew they were going to have to come up with their best game of the tournament going up against this talented Waterloo team. Waterloo dominated their way to the finals and was yet to be tested. Waterloo came out strong scoring early in the game; after making the the first save, the Timber Wolves were able put the puck past Kyle Ayres on the rebound. Even though the Rangers were down there was no quit in this team. Kyver Lippert tied the game up by being in the right spot at the right time. The teams went back a forth until Carson Dionne took advanatge of his opportunity after a goal-mouth scramble the puck ended up on his stick and he was staring at a wide-open net. The defense really turned it up suffocating the Wolves giving them no scoring chances. No one believed the Rangers stood a chance to win this game.  We proved all of them wrong!
