Game 2: Rangers Come Alive
The Kitchener Jr Rangers MD Red team came out flying responding to their less than stellar start with a 5 to 0 win over the Oakridge Aeros.

Justin Hay scored the opener less than thirty seconds into the game when he used his speed to blow past the Areos defenders after a Rashaun Williamson assist. Carter Niall and Carter Bowman both had two goals each. Niall’s first goal was set up by Denver Heiman and his second goal by Logan Hock. Bowman’s first goal was assisted by Connor Coughlin and his second by Joshua McDonald and Braydon Houlihan.

The Rangers looked to their MD veterans to step it up and Keenan Hack, Noah Park, McDonald, Hock, Bowman, Niall, and Nicholas Zammit did just that and played with poise and energy. The Rangers also spoke to their MD rookies Williamson, Jacob Fisher, Yianni Peppas, Heiman, Houlihan, Coughlin, Hay and Brett Herniman to play their games and show their stuff and they responded with spirited play. Hayden Smith earned the shutout for the Rangers and played a solid game making key saves when the game was close.

With the win the Rangers remain in third place but are in a three-way tie with two points with West London and Waterloo. Tomorrow the Rangers face the West London Hawks. If the Rangers have another strong game in them like this one, they are headed in the right direction!

Let’s go Rangers!
