Hockey homework - Oct 2
Hello all,
Wow! What a game yesterday, the girls played amazing for being their first game together as a team and they worked hard for all 3 periods! Great start.
For Hockey Homework this week if you could watch this video with your daughters before practice on Friday that would be great. Our focus this week is quick stops and starts. Being able to change direction quickly and recover is a critical skill in hockey. A number of our drills in practice on Friday will be focused on stopping quickly and changing direction. This is a pretty good video (he does say OK a lot J ) that takes the Hockey Stop from the snowplow to the more advanced crossover push to change direction quickly. We will practice in the same positions that we played in yesterday and keep the positions the same for our next game this week as well with the goal of getting everyone comfortable with their positions and linemates heading into the next game.
