The Kitchener Lady Rangers faced
the Waterloo Ravens in round one of the Central West Division playoffs.
Coming off a strong provincial
playdown showing, the Lady’s started slow in game #1 with only one first period
shot on net. Although keeping the game close tied at “one”, the Ravens took
advantage of some Lady Rangers penalty troubles scoring the winner on a “5 on 3”
advantage.
Needing a win or tie to keep their
playoff hopes alive in game #2, the Lady’s did muster a few more shots on goal
and even managed to score on a power play. Penalty troubles would again plague
the Lady’s (ten minutes in total this game) with the Ravens capitalizing again
at the end of a Rangers penalty kill. Perhaps
in what summed up the kind of season it was, a Ranger deflected sky high puck
somehow managed to find the exact trajectory needed to find the back of the net
☹
On behalf of the Kitchener Lady Rangers
Players, Staff and Parents, congratulations to the Waterloo Ravens for their
round #1 Central West Division playoff win.
