55th Annual Brampton Canadettes Easter Tournament
The Kitchener Lady Rangers travelled down the 401 to Brampton to play in the 55th annual Brampton Canadettes Easter Tournament.

The Lady Rangers started the tournament against Mississauga #5881.  A slow start in the first had the Lady’s first shot on goal coming at the 2:50 mark. Finding some flow in the second, the Lady’s settled in taking a 1 – 0 lead heading into the break. A late third empty netter would give the Lady’s their first “W” of the tournament.

Game two against the Cambridge Roadrunners was a better effort in a defensively minded game. A shorthanded goal against in the second would be all the scoring the Roadrunners would need giving the Lady’s their first loss of the tournament.

Game three against the Ottawa Ice was another slow starter. With minimal shots on goal in the first two periods, the Lady’s exploded in the third for three unanswered goals, finishing the round robin second in pool B.  Off to the Quarter Finals, the Lady’s faced the North York Storm. A strong first two periods went unrewarded for the Lady’s and unfortunately a momentary lapse in D-Zone coverage would give the Storm the only goal they needed to end the Lady’s tournament.

Remember what the weekend was for but don’t lose the lesson. We are hard on you in practices for a reason. Missed passes and missed shots on goal will (and did) prove costly. The end is near. Only two weeks left in your 2023-2024 season ladies. Do whatever it takes to make the end a success.

Our thanks to all the Mississauga, Cambridge, Ottawa and North York players and staff for four great tournament games and our congratulations to the North York Storm for their tournament win.

The coaching staff would also like to extend congratulations to the Cambridge Roadrunners who advanced to the tournament finals before losing to the North York Storm. Well done!
