Twin City Challenge - Rules

 

All games from Novice to Peewee will consist of 3 periods - 10, 10, 12 minutes of stop time;

All games from Bantam to Midget games will consist of 3 periods – 10, 10, 15 minutes stop time.

 

In the event of a tie at the end of regular play, the following rules will apply:

 

  1. The teams shall exchange ends and play with three skaters, and one goalie, a ten (10) minute, stop time, sudden victory overtime period.

  2. If neither team has scored after teams will continue playing ten minute stop time, sudden victory periods until a winner is determined.

  3. All penalties called in overtime will result in a Penalty Shot

  4. If a penalty is carried over from regulation play the teams will play 4 on 3 until the first stoppage after the penalty has ended.  At this time teams will then play 3 on 3.

 

All minor penalties will be enforced for all games. 

Penalized players will be allowed out of the box, after each playing limit has elapsed.

          Major penalties will be five (5) minutes in duration.  Players in box will be rotated on stoppages in play to equalize ice time.  Any Major Penalty will result in automatic suspension.

 

          Decisions on disputes will be ruled upon by the Tournament Committee, which has absolute decision over such matters.  All decisions regarding the rules and guidelines of the Tournament are the responsibility of the Committee Members assigned by each Association.

 

 

The “No Body checking” rules for all games will be strictly enforced.
