Impressive Win
After a late night (but a great night) at the Red Wings game, our opener against the Irish Rovers was tight and dramatic. After trading goals in the first period and a scoreless second, it was 1-1 at the start of the third period. The Rovers scored midway through the third period and took a 2-1 lead. With 1 minute left in the 3rd, Cooper was brought to the bench and we iced another skater. Our offensive pressure was relentless - firing shots on net and digging for rebounds. Gabe jammed a loose puck into the net with 31 seconds left to tie it up.

The goal energized the boys and, aided by the load and continous cheering from the stands, you could feel the energy shift in the building. The puck dropped, we pounced and were back in the offensive end with lots of pressure. Then with 5 seconds left, Carson Arges buried the puck, putting us ahead 3-2 which was the final score. Cooper played a solid game in net and made some big saves to keep us in the game, particularly during the second period. Chase is running around the hotel this afternoon with the hard hat, which was well earned as MVP.
All in all it was an impressive win and a great start to the Mo-Town Tournament. Go Blue!
