0-0 In Play-down Opener
After securing first place overall in the regular season, our first game in the play-downs was against our brother team, the Kitchener Junior Rangers Red. There's extra excitement in the room when we play red - there are many close friends, teammates from years past and even cousins between the teams which seems to up the intensity on the ice.

The play was back and forth and end to end for all three periods. In the first period we had a few close calls with a shot that went post to post and out, plus a cross bar strike. There was no shortage of penalties called, especially against our team but we killed each, including one that left us shorthanded for the final 2 minutes of the third period. Both goalies played very well. Coop was quick with the glove throughout the game and, despite getting wiped out in the crease, managed to keep the puck out of our net.

Jake Curtain was awarded the hard hat for game MVP, but he was quick to give the helmet and recognition to Cooper who recorded a shut-out. You gotta love that sense of sportsmanship! Great game boys! Merry Christmas and Go Blue!
